An Improved Robot Dog for Senior Design
A mechanical engineering senior design team led by Aaed Musa built CARA 2.0, an improved quadruped robot dog featuring capstan drives, rewound brushless motors, and a cost-effective design at $1,450. The robot demonstrates advanced locomotion capabilities including walking, sideways movement, turning, jumping, and balance on inclined surfaces, with durability testing showing motors lasting over 1,000 hours without damage.
